Let It Shine An Invitation for the Christmas Season
Laura Longville
Christmas is often filled with light—candles in windows, trees glowing in living rooms, and neighborhoods shining against the winter darkness.
But the season does not always feel bright.
Christmas can hold joy and grief, connection and loneliness, treasured traditions and unexpected change. We may love parts of the season while quietly struggling through others. Let It Shine was created to make room for all of it.
Over the next seven weeks, Walking in Grace will offer short reflections to help us notice Christ’s light within our real lives—not only in the joyful moments, but also in the places that feel heavy, uncertain, or changed.
Together, we will explore:
· When the Holidays Feel Heavy
· Light for the Lonely Places
· Grace for Changed Traditions
· Finding Joy Without Forcing It
· Giving From the Heart
· God With Us—Right Here
· Becoming a Light for Someone Else
““The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” ”
Each reflection will include a Scripture, an honest look at the season, and a small practice to help you slow down, become present, and receive what you need.
Let It Shine will also connect with In Grace Jewelry throughout the season. Light-catching stones, reflective metals, crosses, and prayer beads can become simple reminders of what is true: Christ is near, hope remains, and even the smallest light matters. Every In Grace purchase also helps provide counseling, spiritual direction, and restorative soul care for women serving around the world.
This will not be a series about creating a perfect Christmas. It will be an invitation to notice God in the Christmas you are actually living.
Whether this season feels joyful, difficult, or somewhere in between, you are welcome here.
May we receive Christ’s light, reflect it in our own way, and carry it gently toward others.
Let it shine.
